Facebook Is DOWN!!

249 views 419 words.

Wow. I can’t believe this….Facebook is actually down! What upgrade could they possibly be doing that requires taking down the whole system!

Guess we’ll just have to see what they have in store for us! Some more about Facebook.com Facebook is by far one of my favorite sites. Talk about wasting time…but especially since they released their API, it’s been spreading like wildfire. But I think I speak for a lot of people, especially college students that are starting to feel let down by our close friend Mr. Zuckerberg.

  1. Introduction to Everyone - Yeah, its cool and a smart business move, but I remember first coming to college (2004) and itching for my .edu email address so I could finally join. It was for "college" students and enabled us a way to interact with current peers. Now anyone can join, which in my opinion took it down a notch or two. It’s not just for the college elite anymore.
    • Issue 1: It’s not COOL for you to be friend with your mom on Facebook. If your mom is on there, either she needs to realize her age, or get a hobby
  2. The API - Its very interesting, and a great way to increase Facebook’s platform. It is getting a little out of hand now though. Slowly, but surely it’s turning into MySpace. Instead of massive chaos and clutter, without some way of filtering facebook.com has only managed to ORGANIZE the massive chaos and clutter.
    • Issue 2: Having every possible Facebook application is not necessary.
    • Issue 3: I HATE those "tell your friends" section of those apps. In my opinion those should be outlawed. I know they want to spread the word about their application and get a little credit for the time they spent, but come on! After every single thing I do (update option, or even use the thing) I’m bombarded with those TELL YOUR FRIENDS screens. I HATE THOSE.

That’s all I have for now, just felt like venting.

Stripe Generator

So, while building this site, I came across a pretty cool tool. I was spending hours trying to get the perfect background texture, ya know web 2.0 style. Then it popped into my head, why not ask google…like I do for everything else. Look what I found… http://www.stripegenerator.com/ Talk about convenient. Not only can you make your own from scratch, but you can view what other people have created. Saved me at least an hour…even with my mad Photoshop skills. Here’s a screen shot.

It really did save TONS of time. Check it out, I swear you’ll be able to find something!
